COLUMBIA, S.C. — Major League Baseball announced their 2026 Minor League Baseball Rawlings Gold Glove award winners yesterday and former Fireflies outfielder Carson Roccaforte was recognized as one of the top up-and-coming fielders in baseball.

Roccaforte played 27 games for Columbia during the 2023 season after being selected in the Competitive Balance round of the MLB draft by the Kansas City Royals. The former Loiusiana-Lafayette student did not commit an error from the outfield this season between Northwest Arkansas and Omaha. While in Columbia, he manned center field for 24 of his 27 games and maintained a 1.000 fielding percentage in 48 total chances.

Frank Mozzicato was the last former Fireflies player to win a Minor League Rawlings Gold Glove. He accomplished the task while playing with the Quad Cities RiverBandits during the 2024 season.

Fireflies Holiday Lights, the Midlands’ favorite winter wonderland, returns to Prisma Health Park Friday, November 20 and tickets start at $10. Come make lasting memories playing in the snow, riding the Fireflies Express and roasting s'mores while checking out the dancing lights. Tickets are available at FirefliesTickets.com.
