MONTGOMERY, AL (August 28, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits fell to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 5-3, on Friday night at DABOS Park.

The Biscuits struck first in the second inning when Gregory Barrios singled to left field, scoring Theo Gillen to give Montgomery a 1-0 lead.

Pensacola answered in the third as Juan Matheus singled to center field, scoring Jay Beshears to tie the game at 1-1.

Montgomery regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning. Gillen doubled to center field, bringing home Cooper Kinney and putting the Biscuits ahead 2-1.

The Biscuits added another run in the fourth when Kamren James grounded out to first, allowing Connor Hujsak to score and extend Montgomery's lead to 3-1.

Pensacola cut into the deficit in the fifth on a double steal, with Adrian Santana stealing home to make it 3-2.

The Blue Wahoos tied the game in the sixth when Ethan O'Donnell singled to left field, scoring Cristian Hernández.

Pensacola took the lead in the seventh on a Matheus double to center field that scored Santana. Matheus was thrown out attempting to advance to third on a relay from Mac Horvath to Barrios to James.

The Blue Wahoos added an insurance run in the eighth when Connor Caskenette grounded into a double play, allowing Hernández to score and putting Pensacola ahead 5-3.

Montgomery was unable to mount a comeback over the final two innings, as Pensacola secured the series victory.

Gillen and Hujsak each collected three total bases to lead the Biscuits offensively. Gillen finished 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Hujsak went 1-for-4 with a triple. Kinney added a double and scored a run, while Barrios, Horvath, and Broecker each recorded a hit.

T.J. Nichols allowed three runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings while striking out nine. Luis Guerrero took the loss after allowing one run over 1.2 innings, while Jonny Cuevas allowed one run over 2.0 innings.
