SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Spartanburgers’ season finale was shortened by rain, but Hub City came out on top. The ‘Burgers (61-71, 27-39) capped off their 2026 campaign with a 1-0 win over Jersey Shore (21-44, 47-83) in a five-inning affair.
Anthony Astudillo got the start in the series finale for the Spartanburgers. The 'Burgers righty walked a pair in the first. With two outs, Wuilfredo Antunez singled to right field, but Quincy Scott cut down a would-be run at the plate to end the inning.
Juan Amarante stranded a pair of Hub City runners in both the first and the third. Astudillo also managed three more scoreless innings of work. Both teams went to the bullpen.
Giussepe Velasquez set down the side in order in the bottom of the fourth, and Luke Savage did the same in the top of the fifth.
