HOW IT HAPPENED:

Gwinnett jumped out to an early lead with six runs on five hits in the top half of the second. RF Ben Gamel and CF José Azocar tallied back-to-back RBI doubles to start the scoring. Azocar would later score from third on a fielder’s choice, LF Luke Williams scored on a 3B Nacho Alvarez Jr. groundout and SS Jim Jarvis came home on 1B Rowdy Tellez’s double.

Gwinnett RHP JR Ritchie threw 5.0 innings of shutout baseball while walking three and striking out five.

After eight scoreless innings, the Express posted a crooked number in the bottom of the ninth. 2B Justin Foscue got aboard with a double and later scored on a 1B Jonah Bride sacrifice fly. Four walks and a CF Alejandro Osuna RBI single brought the Round Rock deficit to three. But it would be, Gwinnett RHP Austin Pope to retire the side, salvaging the 6-3 Gwinnett victory.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

WHAT A RELIEF: The Round Rock bullpen tallied their first scoreless outing this season. Relievers RHP Mason Thompson, RHP Marc Church, RHP Patrick Murphy and RHP Michel Otanez held the Stripers to four hits in the final 4.1 innings. The E-Train bullpen continues to pace the Pacific Coast League in strikeouts (36) and K/9 (12.15).

FOSS: 2B Justin Foscue went 1-for-3 with a double, a run and a strikeout on Wednesday night. Foscue now has a hit in nine consecutive games, dating back to September 16, 2025.
