Andrew T. Berlin is Chairman and Owner of the South Bend Cubs, purchasing the franchise in 2011 from former Indiana Governor Joe Kernan. Since acquiring the club, Berlin has overseen a remarkable transformation of the organization, helping elevate the South Bend Cubs into one of Minor League Baseball’s premier franchises. Under his leadership, fan attendance has more than quadrupled, Four Winds Field has undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation and modernization project, and the team secured a historic long-term agreement ensuring professional baseball remains in South Bend for decades to come.
In addition to his role with the South Bend Cubs, Berlin is a Partner in the Chicago Cubs and serves as Chairman of Shield AI and Klöckner Pentaplast. He is also the Founder and former Chairman and CEO of Berlin Packaging, which he led from 1988 through 2019. During his tenure, the company achieved 32 consecutive years of record growth and became one of the world’s largest packaging suppliers, now valued at more than $6 billion.
Berlin is active in numerous business, civic, and philanthropic initiatives, including service on corporate and charitable boards, public safety commissions, and Syracuse University’s Board of Trustees and Executive Committee. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University and a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, with additional studies in military history at Boston College and business administration at Stanford University.
