Stasio shines in start despite close Riders loss

FRISCO, Texas (September 10, 2026) - The Frisco RoughRiders got five strong innings from Cole Stasio in a start on his 25th birthday, but fell 3-1 to the Wichita Wind Surge Thursday night at Equity Bank Park.

Wichita (29-37, 53-79) scored in the first without a hit against Stasio (1-2) on a sacrifice fly from Brandon Winokur, but the Frisco (32-34, 71-63) righty cruised through the next four innings, surrendering just a third-inning solo shot to Quinn McDaniel that made it 2-0.

After being shut out by Ty Langenberg (2-6) through the first five innings, Frisco found the scoreboard against the right-hander in the sixth on an RBI double from Yeison Morrobel that made it 2-1.

The Wind Surge scored again in the sixth inning, taking a 3-1 lead that was held onto by Kyle Bischoff in his sixth save of the season.

Notes to Know:

• Stasio’s five innings marked a Minor League career high by two full innings.

• Morrobel now has 10 hits in his last six games.

• The game, two hours and 10 minutes, was Frisco’s shortest nine-inning game of the year.

Frisco will look to even the series with a win Thursday, facing RHP Riley Quick (0-2, 5.72) in a 6:35 p.m. start from Equity Bank Park.
