Wappingers Falls, N.Y. – The Hudson Valley Renegades lost their second straight game to the Brooklyn Cyclones, falling 5-2 at Heritage Financial Park on Thursday night.

The Renegades did not score a run until the bottom of the seventh inning when it scored two in a two-out rally.

Hudson Valley stranded six of their seven batters on base in the middle three innings.

Brooklyn’s starting pitcher, Joel Diaz, faced the minimum through three innings. Diaz walked one and hit one with a pitch, but the Cyclones turned two double plays to wipe the bases clean.

Cyclones pitching struck out 10 Renegades for a second straight night. Brooklyn has 28 strikeouts through three games in the current series.

Hudson Valley pitching struck out 11 Cyclones for a second time this series. The Renegades also have 28 strikeouts through three games.

Hudson Valley needed a position player to pitch for the second time this season. Diomedes Hernandez came in with two outs in the top of the ninth inning and got Antonio Jimenez to pop out to first baseman Kyle West.

The Renegades last needed a position player to pitch on 4/8/26 at home vs Wilmington in the Renegades’ home-opening series.

The Renegades have won 14 of their last 18 games. However, they have lost two in a row for the first time since 8/13 and 8/14 vs Wilmington.

The Renegades move to 13-7 overall against Brooklyn, 6-3 at home, and 3-3 in the second half.

The Renegades are 2.0 games back of the Greensboro Grasshoppers and the second half playoff spot after Greensboro won its game with the Hub City Spartanburgers.

Renegades starting pitchers have thrown a combined 31.0 IP, 18 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 11 BB, 35 K in the last seven games.

LHP Pico Kohn (4.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 9 K) struck out a career-high nine batters.

Kohn has not allowed more than one run to score in all of his five starts this season.

Kohn has walked one or fewer batters in his last two starts.

Kohn allowed three hits, tying for his season high in hits allowed this season.

Kohn struck out the first four batters he faced and seven of the first 10 he faced.

1B Kyle West (2-for-4, 3B, 2 K) ripped his second triple of the year.

West is one of just three active Renegades with multiple triples.

West grabbed his team-leading 27^th multi-hit performance of the season.

DH Dean Toigo (0-for-3, HBP, K) has gotten on base in 13 of his first 14 professional games.

2B Enmanuel Tejeda (0-for-3, BB, 2 K) extended his on-base streak to five games.

3B Hans Montero (2-for-3, 2B, R, BB) grabbed his second straight multi-hit performance and his third in his last four games played.

Montero’s double was his third with the Renegades in 17 games played.

Montero has gotten on base three times in each of the last two games played

CF Camden Troyer (1-for-3, 2B, R, RBI, BB, 2 K) batting in the Renegades’ first run of the night.

Troyer hit his 16^th double of the season, tying him with Kyle West for the second most on the active roster.
