'Gades shutout Jersey Shore in masterful series opening win

Wappingers Falls, NY – The Hudson Valley Renegades opened their six-game series against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws with a masterful 5-0 victory at Heritage Financial Park on Tuesday night.
The Renegades threw their third shutout of the season on Tuesday, and their first nine-inning shutout win since 4/9 vs Wilmington (the fourth game of the season). Hudson Valley has thrown 42 shutouts since the beginning of the 2024 season, the most in Minor League Baseball.
Four Hudson Valley pitchers combined to not issue a walk in the game, the sixth time this season that they have done so, but the first time since 4/23 vs Brooklyn. The three hits allowed by the staff tonight was the fewest in a 0 BB game this season.
Renegades pitchers combined to retire the final 17 BlueClaws batters of the game, with the BlueClaws only hitting three balls out of the infield after the fourth inning. At one point Andrew Landry, Hansel Rincon and Wilmy Sanchez struck out seven straight batters.
With two more home runs hit on Tuesday night, the Renegades have hit 23 home runs in their last 13 games, 41.8% of their season total of 55 home runs. Hudson Valley has hit two-or-more home runs in a game four times in its last five games.
The Renegades improved to 3-4 against the BlueClaws in 2026 and are 13-18 at home.
RHP Bryce Cunningham (6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K) retired the last eight batters he faced and worked past 4.2 IP for the first time this year. He threw 50 of his 71 pitches (70.4%) for strikes.
Cunningham worked for 6.0 innings for the first time since 5/11/25 at Wilmington. That was the last game of a streak of five straight starts for Cunningham throwing 6.0-or-more innings.
It was the third scoreless outing of Cunningham’s career, the other two coming on 4/19/25 vs. Wilmington and 4/26/25 at Asheville.
All three hits allowed by Cunningham were singles.
RHP Andrew Landry (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K) struck out the side in his one inning of work.
Landry has not allowed a hit or a run in three of his last four appearances, lowering his ERA to 3.38 out of the bullpen.
RHP Hansel Rincon (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K) struck out the side in his one inning of work.
Rincon has not allowed a run in seven of his last eight appearances and has not issued a walk in four straight appearances.
RHP Wilmy Sanchez (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K) closed out the game in the top of the ninth.
Sanchez broke his streak of runs allowed in four straight games. He had a 13.50 ERA across his last four appearances (4.0 IP).
